City of Sherwood announces upcoming events for the Spring and Summer

Sherwood city officials have announced their upcoming events for the Spring and Summer.



The Sherwood Sharks 5K is Saturday, March 30 at 9 a.m. Participants can register in person at the Bill Harmon Rec Center.



On Saturday, March 30, Sherwood Parks & Recreation will host their Annual Easter Egg Hunt at City Hall Park, located at 2199 E. Kiehl Ave., at 2 p.m.


The Shadow Over Sherwood event will take place on April 8, 2024 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Sherwood Sports Complex.

On April 8, the city will host a Solar Eclipse Viewing at the Sherwood Sports Complex from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.


There will be a Senior Luncheon on April 15 at 11:30 a.m. at the Jack Evans Senior Center. Seniors can RSVP until April 12 by calling 501-834-5770.



Third Thursdays in the Park will begin on April 18 and conclude on September  19.

On April 18, the city will have their free Third Thursdays in the Park Concert Series at City Hall Park from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. This concert will feature local contemporary Christian musician Mitchell Meckfessel.


There are two events on April 20 in Sherwood. The first is Shred-A-Thon at the Jack Evans Senior Center parking lot from 9 a.m. until noon. For more information on the Shred-A-Thon, email keepsherwoodbeautiful@gmail.com. From 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. that evening, there will be a Skate Night at the Bill Harmon Recreation Center, located at 51 Shelby Road.


On April 22, Sherwood will celebrate the city's 75th anniversary with a city-wide clean-up from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. City officials encourage participants to stop by the City Hall Complex at 2199 E. Kiehl to get tools and a location assignment.


On April 26, there will be Stories with Mayor Mary Jo Heye-Townsell at the Duran Youth Center from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. For more information on this event, call 501-835-9599.


There are several events in Sherwood on April 27. The first event is Sherwood PD Drug Take Back. The drug takeback event will take place at St. Vincent Hospital on Wildwood and in front of the Walmart Neighborhood Market from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. From noon until 4 p.m., there will be a Gettin' Reel with First Responders Kids' Fishing Derby at City Hall Park.




On April 27 and 28, there will be tryouts for the Sherwood Sharks at the Bill Harmon Recreation Center. Tryouts will be from 10 a.m. until noon on the 27th and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the 28th. On May 7, Mayor Heye-Townsell will host a prayer breakfast at the Sherwood Forest. Breakfast will be served at 6:30 a.m. and the program will begin at 7 a.m. Tickets are $10 per person and table sponsorships are available. For more information, call 501-835-4141.


The Third Thursdays in the Park FREE Concert Series will continue on May 16 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at City Hall Park and feature 80's Night with Cliff & Susan.


According to city officials, the outdoor pools will open on May 25.


The Splash Bash will take place on June 14 at the Duran Youth Center. The time of the Splash Bash will be announced at a later date.
