Monroe County Natural Hazards Questionnaire
Monroe County Natural Hazards Questionnaire

Nestled within Monroe County lies immense beauty—and along with that beauty comes the unexpected. From summer storms in cotton fields to heavy spring rain in the hollows, our region faces its share of natural challenges. That’s why your voice is so important.

Central Arkansas Planning & Development District, Inc. is inviting all residents—whether you live in a city, a rural community, on a creek bottom, or atop a ridge—to complete the Monroe County Natural Hazards Questionnaire. It’s quick, free, and will help shape our response when nature decides to remind us who’s really in charge.

Why You Should Take It

  • You know your neighborhood best. You’ve seen flooding near the culvert, or felt the shake of a strong wind blast. No one is more qualified to tell us what’s happening where.

  • Your input improves safety. By sharing your observations, you help emergency planners identify weak spots—whether it’s poor drainage, erosion, or wildfire risk—and prioritize improvements.

  • It supports funding and resources. Data gathered from the questionnaire strengthens grant applications and funding requests. Your participation helps the county secure the support we need.

  • It’s easy & quick. The questionnaire takes only a few minutes to complete, and you don’t need to be a “storm-expert” to participate. Just your everyday experience counts.

  • Everyone benefits. Whether you’re a longtime resident, newcomer, or just renting a home—your insight helps keep all of us safer and more resilient.

What to Expect

The questionnaire asks you about:

  • Types of natural hazards you’ve witnessed (flooding, tornado/wind, wildfire, snow/ice, etc.)

  • Locations and frequency of those events

  • Impacts on your home, property, or neighborhood

  • Suggestions for improvement (what could have helped you, your property, your neighbors)

How to Participate

  • Click the link: Natural Hazards Questionnaire

  • Fill it out at your convenience—on your phone, tablet, or computer

  • Be honest, be descriptive, and don’t worry about perfect wording—just let us know what you’ve seen or experienced

Spread the Word

Do you know a neighbor who might not hear this? Please encourage them to participate. Maybe print a note, share the link on social media, or remind someone after church or at the local gathering. The more responses we get, the stronger our emergency plan becomes.

By spending just a few minutes today, you’re making tomorrow a little safer for everyone in Monroe County. Thank you for stepping up and sharing your experience—it truly makes a difference.
